2020’ BH Score: 90-93 /Tasted: Jan 10, 2022 /Drink: 2030+/Issue: 85 /♥Outstanding
Note: from a .58 ha parcel
Tasting note: A slightly more deeply pitched nose reflects notes of red and dark raspberry, poached plum, lavender, violet and a wide variety of spice elements. There is better volume and richness to the gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors that flash focused power on the firm, youthfully austere, serious and lingering finale. Good development potential here.
2019’ BH Score: 91-93/Tasted: Jan 10, 2021/Drink: 2031+/Issue: 81/♥Outstanding
Note: from a .58 ha parcel
Tasting note: A more restrained combination is comprised by notes of red and dark currant along with a plethora of spice, floral and tea nuances that include star anise, clove, jasmine, violet and a whiff of sandalwood. There is more volume and mid-palate concentration to the bigger-bodied flavors that possess a silky yet firm texture that carries over to the impressively persistent finish. Lovely stuff that is built to reward extended keeping yet it should be approachable after 6 to 8 years if desired.
2018’ BH Score: 90-92 /Tasted: Jan 10, 2020 /Drink: 2028+ / Issue: 77
Note: from a .58 ha parcel
Tasting note: A strikingly spicy nose offers up notes of anise, hoisin and soy along with notes of Asian-style tea, violet and red and dark pinot fruit. There is a bit more mid-palate density to the seductive textured, velvety and mouthcoating flavors that possess better depth and persistent on the slightly firmer finale.
2016’ BH Score: 89-91/Tasted: Jan 15, 2018/Drink: 2024+/Issue: 69
Note: from a .58 ha parcel
Tasting note: A somewhat spicier mix of red currant, plum and lavender is set against a subtle backdrop of sandalwood nuances. There is both more volume and bit more energy as well to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a slightly rounder mouthfeel on the dusty and youthfully austere finale. Patience.
