Nicolas Potel 被稱為 『布根地明日之星』其受父親 Grard Potel -被喻為布根地偉大釀酒師影響極深。 Grard Potel 自1964年起身為釀酒師一手打造名莊（Domaine de la Pousse d’Or）。 在Grard主導下，酒莊酒質日益提升，獲得佳評。直到1997年病發去世。
Nicolas自幼就展現對釀酒的天份,盡得父親真傳 -在1996成立Masion Nicolas Potel。同時找到同位於（Nuit-St-George）的大酒商Cottin Freres 協助並成為其最大股東;而後雙方理念不合-嫌隙漸增，尼可拉另成立（Domaine Nicolas Potel）釀酒，最後Nicolas 在 2009 年離開了 Maison Nicolas Potel，同時Domaine Nicolas Potel 亦被迫改名為 Domaine de Bellene，後來他再成立 Maison Roche de Bellene。
Nicolas 目前擁有 (Domaine de Bellene) 和 (Maison Roche de Bellene)。前者採用生物動力法, 重生物結構多樣化； Roche de Bellene的特級園紅酒都取自於60年以上的老藤釀造，為它的佳釀帶來更多優雅迷人的風味物質。
Tasting note: Strong reduction renders the nose completely unreadable. The cool, intense and highly energetic mineral-driven middle weight flavors possess excellent depth of material before terminating in a distinctly toasty finish of remarkable persistence. As the description would suggest this is relatively awkward today and my range is awarded more on the basis of the quality of the supporting material than on how this is presently showing.
