Tasting note: Cool, pure and airy aromas of spicy dark pinot fruit are laced with hints of clove, anise and lavender. The detailed and utterly delicious middleweight flavors also exude a subtle minerality on the lightly austere, balanced and sneaky long finale. This is lovely and also quite understated in style.

Tasting note: Cool, airy and admirably pure aromas of dark cherry, spice and floral nuances complement the refined and exceptionally intense medium-bodied flavors that also exude a bracing salinity on the youthfully austere but quite stylish finish. This is a classic LPV that is firm enough to reward a decade plus of cellaring.

Tasting note: There is a vaguely candied aspect to the pretty, elegant and pure red cherry scents that are laced with hints of anise, rose petal and lavender. The super-refined and almost delicate medium weight flavors possess a beguiling underlying tension on the mineral-infused, delicious and ever so mildly austere finale that is notably firmer than the succulent mid-palate would suggest. This age-worthy effort is pretty much textbook Petits Vougeots.

Tasting note: This too is noticeably ripe though the fruit profile derives more from the red side of the spectrum, and in particular cherry and pomegranate, though there are wisps of black raspberry and spice in evidence. The sleek, elegant and refined medium weight flavors flash good minerality before concluding in a balanced, complex and sneaky long finale. This is lovely and the supporting tannins are quite fine-grained.

Tasting note: An ultra-elegant nose offers up really pretty aromas of violet, plum, dark currant and a pretty array of spice elements. The sleek, intense and beautifully well-detailed flavors evidence a youthfully austere, compact and surprisingly short and slightly clipped finish. I attribute the difficult finish to an elevated level of gas and thus this should achieve its usual quality level.
