2020’Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy Rating:97’,Tasted: Dec 2021
2020’ BH Score: 93-95 /Tasted: Jan 10, 2022 /Drink: 2035+ /Issue: 85
Note: 1.65 ha monopole
Tasting note: A more expressive nose freely offers up exceptionally pretty aromas that include the exuberantly spicy essence of various red berries, sandalwood and an interesting hint of orange pekoe tea. The richer but not as tightly wound medium weight flavors possess a borderline creamy mid-palate while the hugely long finish is youthfully austere but impeccably well-balanced. In a word, excellent.
2019’Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy Rating:98’,Tasted: Nov 2020
2019’ BH Score: 95/Tasted: Jan 10, 2022/Drink: 2034+/Issue: 85

Tasting note: An elegant mix of upper and medium register aromas centers mostly on the red side of the fruit spectrum along with hints of exotic herbal tea, spice and pretty floral elements along with a hint of menthol. There is lovely detail and underlying tension to the moderately powerful medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of punch on the dusty and youthfully austere finish that exhibits first-rate length. This beautifully balanced effort could use more depth, but it is already a lovely combination of power and refinement that will also need extended aging though probably not as much as the Grands Ech.
2017’Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy Rating:96’,Tasted: Sep 2021
2017’ BH Score: 92-94’/ Tasted: Jan 10, 2019 / Drink: 2032+ / Issue: 73
Tasting note: This is also quite floral with its array of violet, lavender and rose petal wisps that add considerable elegance to the very pretty mix of black pinot fruit, sandalwood and lovely spice elements. The mouthfeel of the medium weight plus flavors is finer than those of the GE if not quite as powerful or muscular, all wrapped in a wonderfully long if slightly warm and austere finale. This is a big but balanced example of LGR and should age effortlessly.

Tasting note: A hint of menthol adds nuance to the mostly highly-spiced red berry fruit nose that is quite reserved if beautifully complex while leading to sweet, delicious, generous and round medium full flavors that are classy and refined, all wrapped in a strikingly persistent and explosive finish. This offers excellent cellar potential and at this early stage the wood, which is normally fairly prominent, is already well integrated but note that this will need every bit of 15 years, perhaps even slightly longer, to arrive at its prime as it’s very structured. A really beautiful LGR that showed even a bit better than it had only three weeks earlier as it was given the benefit of an hour’s worth of air.
